ARRDEC believes that empowerment of the rural population, especially women lead directly to the improvement of standard of living of the rural populace. ARRDEC’s Micro Credit Scheme which started in 1999 is a sustainable livelihood project with the objective of addressing poverty in the society, targeting the poor rural dwellers particularly women and other household heads. Since 1999, one thousand, two hundred and sixty (1,260) people majorly rural women have received microcredit loans worth over N20 million, invested into agriculture and other economic activities leading to an improved standard of living.
Abuja and Uyo offices are responsible for the running and management of the program.
